Atlanta is a vibrant, international city, a place where cultures intersect and where diverse communities meet, at literal and metaphorical crossroads.
That type of connection helps define our identity and, in that spirit, ahead of the World Cup in 2026, Downtown Atlanta wanted to welcome visitors in a way that celebrated and amplified our unique, modern voice. In support, local artists have been painting murals throughout downtown Atlanta to do just that.
I worked closely with Downtown Atlanta, and the iconic Westin Peachtree Plaza, to create a piece that represented Atlanta’s beautiful communities.
Intersecting shapes and lines form multiple Cherokee Roses, Georgia’s state flower, to make a thriving garden. The design serves as subtle wayfinding to help direct movement towards Centennial Olympic Park. With flora as the focus, it’s also a little nod to the prevalence of nature in our city and our moniker, “A City in the Forest.”
Fun fact: the Cherokee Rose isn’t native to Georgia and traces its roots to southern China, Taiwan, Laos, and Vietnam.
